Kristina Darwood is both the founding and primary attorney of Darwood Law Firm. She graduated from Howard Law School in 2004. Since entering private practice, Attorney Darwood has progressed in her legal career with a drive to help individuals experiencing a variety of life’s most profound circumstances. It is her passion to serve others that empowers her to assist clients with uncontested divorces, adoptions, estate planning, and other family law issues. In addition to her versatile experience and concentration in these areas of law, she is also well-trained in mediation advocacy.

Our Fee Structure
DLF only charges its clients on a flat fee basis. This demonstrates the firm’s consideration for its clients’ valuable time and financial trust. Before DLF begins working on a case, clients are made aware of the price in full. Most family law practices charge by the hour – for example, one might pay hourly fees for a partner, an associate, and a paralegal. Similarly, phone calls, emails, and court time are all charged by the hour. With this fee system, the expenses are seemingly endless, and the due amount is often revealed after a case, which can potentially cause repeated sticker shock when a client receives their monthly bill.
DLF does not subscribe to this billing method. Before working on a case, the firm informs its clients about their set service price. During the initial consultation, the fee will be customized according to the specific needs of the case. The expertise DLF offers clients is never based on the hours the firm works to assist them but on the exceptional service they receive from the firm.
